Welding and more

Well here on the farm I have been working on a new screening system for the pellet mill. (click on products then on wood pellets) I will put some pictures up at a later date.  We are having a lone Christmas with Aimee of in Ar canvessing and Janna and Andy in Phonixe and Kymbrelee and Immian and Blueberry are up in Canada.  So it is just my Mom and Dad and I that will be here for Christmas.  So God bless and have a blessed Christmas.

So there you have it a conveyer from start to finish.  I wish that it was that easy to build.  But alas its not.

been a while

Well it has been a long time since I have wrote any thing.  So what have I been doing?  Well since I finished the conveyor I started working on fixing some pipe rails that were in the greenhouse.  It is what the carts go up and down the rows on.  As well as they are used for heating the greenhouse.  Hot water runs through the pipes and a few of them had some leaks so I had to take the rusted part out and put new pipe in.  Now that that is done I am rebuilding two of the carts that they use in the greenhouse.  I have been redoing the scissors that raise the cart up.  I will put some pictures up in a few days.  Just thought I would tell what I have been doing.

Well it has been a long time but the conveyer is done and in place.  I will post some pictures when I get my camera.  But for now it is working and looks good.

What is the next project that I will be doing?  Not 100% for sure but my dad has been talking about taking a dry van trailer (the ones that are pulled by a semi truck) and make it so that it can dry wood for our pellet mill.  But we will see.  So for now have fun and God bless

Paint and more Paint

Well the main welding is done and now it is time to paint.  So today I started painting the primer.  It is going to be black when it is done.  Then it is mounting the motor putting the belt and rollers in running some wire and it is going to be done.  Then I will be off on another project.  Lots of stuff to do here on the farm.  Happy reading and God bless.

Ya almost done with it.  Still waiting for some parts to come in and then it will be done.  There is still lots of welding to do on it but for know it is just about done.  Here are some pictures of it.

Welding

Well this last Sunday my dad came to me and said that we needed to fabricate a conveyer to fill a silo that holds pellets for our pellet fired boiler that heats the greenhouse.  So I set to work (in my head) coming up with an idea.  As the days went on I finely got out my graph paper and started to draw.  Then took it to my dad were we talked at depth on how it was going to work.  Well it is Friday and I have to two sides for it done and we have to have another planing time were we figure out how it is going to work with the rollers and all.  When it is done I will put pictures up on my facebook, and for those that don't have one I will put some up here but most of them are going to be on FB.

Didn't know that so much work went in to such a simple conveyer.  Well I guess that a 48' conveyer with a 18" belt is not really simple.  Off to have a talk with dad about the rest of how it will work.

Life on the farm.

Life on the farm has been busy.  Today we shipped 4000 lbs of pumpkins to the Whole Foods in Arizona.  What have I been doing?  Is replacing some of the post in the greenhouse because they are rusting out and breaking so I am cutting out the rusted part and then welding a new piece in.  I had one more left to do when my mom called me and told me that I needed to load the second truck that is heading in to Phoenix  tomorrow morning.  We have to send two trucks in because the first one can not take the amount of weight that we are selling.  So I will have to finish the last post tomorrow.

At 10:00 am tomorrow we have ten people that are coming from the Whole Foods in Tucson.  We are giving them a tour of the greenhouse and then they are going to have a home cooked meal from food that is grown on the farm.

First Blog post

So ya here  I am with a blog.  Thanks to my friend I have one now.

As you can see I am a welder.  Right now I am working with my family on our farm.  Check out the website: Click here  I work on the equipment that we have on the farm.  I just finished going over and making sure that a big potatoes harvester that we just bought worked.  That included changing bearings, welding a little shelf were the hydraulic valve bar could sit.  I will see if I can put some pictures up at a later date.  Well I guess that is all for now.
